How to Choose the Right Lifting Gear? 🤔
The most critical spec is the item's load rating — never exceed the stated maximum load, whether it's a shackle, carabiner or chain.
A common mistake is using a regular rope instead of a dedicated lifting rope — standard ropes aren't always rated for dynamic loads. Another mistake is ignoring wear or corrosion on old gear.
In Israel, due to sun and coastal exposure in some areas, choose galvanized or aluminum corrosion-resistant gear, and inspect it before every use.
💡 Pro Tip
Before lifting, always check that the shackle or carabiner is fully locked — a loose pin is the most common cause of transport accidents.
Use & Safety 🔧
Before starting work, check the rope or chain's condition — look for wear, tears or rust that could weaken its strength.
Attach the carabiner or shackle securely, make sure the load is evenly distributed, and avoid sudden movements that create momentary overload.
After use, store gear in a dry, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight that can weaken synthetic materials.
